I am a first-generation, Vietnamese-American from Coconut Creek, Florida pursuing my dream to become an architect. On May 2022, I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and a minor in Sustainability and the Built Environment.
For as long as I could remember, I have always been a lover of the fine arts. As a special medium for creativity and self-expression, it is my way to make a statement without words. As a proud plant mom to a family of succulents and cacti, I am also a lover of all living things. Through the College of Design, Construction and Planning, I have been able to marry these two loves together and develop structures that respond to cultural, environmental, and contextual values and issues. At UF, I learned the true power and potential of design as transformative force that can put the right in what is wrong in our communities. By working hand-in-hand with peers in design competitions and studio assignments, I realized the importance of camaraderie — a driver for creativity that shapes and enhances complex projects. My exposure to issues within the built environment through a series of sustainability courses has also set a foundation for ways to improve the performance of buildings and their effects on the natural world. While I craft basswood bug models in my architecture studio, I dream of creating beautiful , yet sustainable, public spaces that serve as a bridge between people and places — strengthening the relationship between our communities and the environment. To design. To build. To collaborate. That is my dream. I want to carve a path towards a brighter, greener future today for a better future tomorrow, one building at a time. |
